— Dean and Pauline Godlove, Kokomo, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Hollyhock Hill, Indianapolis. An open house is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 at Chapel Hill Christian Church.
Dean and the former Pauline Miller were married Nov. 28, 1947, in South Side Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) by the Rev. Charles A. Matthews, brother-in-law of the groom. They were students at Kokomo High School in the mid-1940s. They met while she worked after school at Dimmit’s Dairy, an ice cream parlor. He proposed marriage after returning home from World War II.
Pauline was co-owner of The Gourmet Art and assistant manager of J.J.’s Fashions, later B.J.’s Fashions.
Before his retirement, Dean was in management at Continental Steel, where he headed the brick masonry department, known as “The Brick Gang.”
Their children are Barbara Godlove, Kokomo, and son Geof Godlove, Kokomo.
