Jim and Judy Carol Morris, Kokomo, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They traveled to Hawaii and took a cruise of the islands with their children and their spouses. Today, they are taking their grandchildren to dinner and in the evening the couple plan a carriage ride.
Jim and the former Judy Carol Wilmoth were married Dec. 22, 1963, in Bon Air Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo by the Rev. Don Matthews. Jim saw Judy in her backyard and told his friends, “That’s the girl I’m going to marry.” After dating three years, on Judy’s 17th birthday, he got down on one knee and proposed at her parents’ home.
Jim retired from ministry and from Kraft Foods, and Judy is a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital.
Their children are Col. Tamara and spouse Terri Morris, Alexandria, Va., and Melody and husband Marty Johnson, Jay and wife Tammy Morris, and Lynda and husband Ryan Morris, all of Kokomo. They have nine grandchildren.
