Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region is scheduling a series of workshops to help students and their families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as the FAFSA, for the 2014-15 academic year.
All students seeking federal and state grants, loans and scholarships, as well as other financial awards, must complete the form, which must be received by the federal processor by March 10 for Indiana residents to be eligible for state aid.
Information required to file the FAFSA includes dates of birth and Social Security numbers for applicant and parents, household income and tax filing status (for example, head of household, single or married). Parents can attend one of the workshops and file on behalf of their student. Families who have not yet filed their 2013 tax returns should file an initial FAFSA by March 10; they will have until May 1 to make revisions.
