---- — Tickets are on sale for Acacia Academy’s annual Art in Bloom fundraiser.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. March 8 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo, where the non-denominational K-8 school is housed.

Hors d’oeurvres provided by Main Street Café, dinner, dessert by J. Edwards, live musical entertainment and a live and silent auction are planned for the evening. Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased at the school or by calling 765-457-5545 through March 7.

“Each class does a presentation and talks about why they chose that art project,” said Lori Tate, development director for Acacia Academy. “Every student’s project has to do with what they’re studying.”

Students have created a quilt, drawings and other artwork for the live auction. The silent auction will include certificates to restaurants, jewelry, paintings, pottery and other items.

In the past, 200 people have attended Art in Bloom and raised about $40,000, which goes to student scholarships. Sixty-five percent of the academy’s 67 students receive some type of tuition assistance.
