---- — Applications now are available for the Maude Kelley Scholarship, distributed by the Community Howard Regional Health Foundation.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited healthcare degree program and submit a copy of their academic transcript. Application forms are available at the foundation office, 125 W. Taylor St., Kokomo, or online at www.communityhoward.org. Completed applications must be returned to the foundation office no later than 5 p.m. April 1.
In 1991, local philanthropist Ed Kelley founded the Maude Kelley Scholarship Fund in memory of his mother. The scholarships are awarded to students entering healthcare professions based on academic achievement and the likelihood of the recipient to return to work in Howard County or the surrounding area.
Members of the scholarship committee review applications and recipients will be notified by mail in June. Fifteen students in a variety of medical fields received the scholarship for the 2014-15 school year.
