Calvary Baptist Church
The church, 1967 W. Boulevard, will ring in the New Year with a variety show at 4 p.m. Jan. 5. Mary Larison and Marci Stahl, Irma Sanders, Pamela England, Jack and Marian Parker and Phil Drake at the piano will be on the program. There is no admission charge, but a freewill offering will be taken.
Crossroads Community Church
Single Purpose, a group for singles, will have a Christmas party with a pitch-in dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 21 in the church café. The church is located near the intersection of U.S. 931 and Ind. 26. Enter door No. 2. Following dinner there will be games, a white elephant gift exchange, and a DJ.

First Evangelical Presbyterian Church
The 13th annual Holiday Cookie Walk, sponsored by Women in Ministry, will be 9 to 11 a.m. today at 2000 W. Jefferson St. Customers may walk through Fellowship Hall and fill a box for $10 from selections of fresh homemade cookies for holiday gatherings, including a table of goodies for customers with special dietary needs. All proceeds will be used for mission programs. The public is welcome.
Fountain of Life Word and Worship Center
Youth of the church will present their annual children’s Christmas program at 5 p.m. today at 611 E. Jackson St.
The church will have its annual Christmas Day celebration at 10 a.m. Dec. 25.
Watch Night, also known as “Freedom’s Eve,” will be observed at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 31. The event came into prominence Dec. 31, 1862, when black people gathered together in churches and private homes to await news that the Emancipation Proclamation had become law. The observance has continued yearly since that time.
Kokomo Church of the Brethren
A free pancake breakfast and photos with Santa are planned from 9 to 11 a.m. today at the church, 311 W. Lincoln Road.

Shiloh bell choirs will be performing at the 8:25 a.m. service and the Chancel Choir will be performing its Christmas cantata at the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday at 5741 W. 100 North.

A storm relief giveaway of clothing and household items is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 20 and Dec. 21 at the church, 616 N. Union St. The first 25 families to arrive on each day will receive a food basket.

The church, 3530 N. 1000 West, will host “A Visit From Gabriel,” also known as Jonathan Harbaugh, at 6 p.m. Sunday. A Christmas musical, “For Unto Y’All,” will be presented. The cast includes Anna Trotter, Carlos Zapata Jr., Don Lowry, Abby Hoback, Abby Johnson, Danielle Dunten, Karly McKay, Cameron Lawson, Anthony Dunten and the Rev. Ruth Lawson.
