Kokomo Tribune

---- — INDIANAPOLIS — Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann, in cooperation with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Division of Aging, will sponsor the Golden Hoosier Award. Since 2008 this award has honored Hoosier senior citizens for their lifetimes of service and commitment to their communities.

“This award is a great opportunity to recognize individuals in Indiana cities and towns who have volunteered their time to making the communities they call home a better place to live,” said Ellspermann. “I encourage everyone to nominate that special senior Hoosier who has made a positive impact on his/her community.”

To be eligible for the Golden Hoosier Award, the nominee must be an Indiana resident, 65 years of age or older, who has volunteered at least three years in their communities. Additional guidelines and the nomination form are available at http://www.in.gov/lg/2532.htm.

Completed applications must be submitted by April 25, and the awards will be presented May 30 at Fort Benjamin Harrison’s Garrison Conference Center, Blue Herron Ballroom, Indianapolis.
