First Church of the Nazarene

The church is offering a program focusing on grief recovery at 2734 S. Washington St. “God and Grief” is designed to guide individuals through the grief process. The program will be from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesday through April 8.

First Congregational Church

The church, 505 W. Mulberry St., is hosting a Lenten Series focusing on teachings from the “Son of God” movie at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday evenings. The evenings begin with a free soup and salad dinner at 6:15, followed by the lesson and small group discussions from 7 to 8 p.m. The next two sessions are April 2 and April 9. Child care is available by calling the church office at 765-452-8285.

Fountain of Life Word and Worship Center

The church’s deacons will present the eighth annual Men of Power Conference at 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at 611 E. Jackson St. Speakers will be Bishop Charles E. Glenn, the church’s pastor, April2; Pastor Jack Woodard, senior pastor of Strait Gate House of Prayer, April 3; and Bishop C.E. Woodard, senior pastor Disciples of Christ Church and state prelate of the Convention of Convenanting Churches International Fellowship.

An appreciation celebration honoring Jasmine Parker, a church musician, will be at 4 p.m. April 6. LaToshia Lynne Glenn Johnson of Emmanuel Christian Fellowship Center in Indianapolis will be the speaker.

Highland Park Church

“Messiah in the Passover,” a demonstration showing how Jesus fulfilled the ancient feast of Passover, is planned for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 516 W. Sycamore St. The program will be presented by Boris Goldin of Chosen People Ministries.

It begins with the traditional Passover Seder table — complete with all the articles of the Jewish celebration. Goldin will explain the meanings of the various items of the Passover feast and highlight their relationship to the Last Supper that Jesus celebrated with his disciples, giving special emphasis to the redemptive significance of Calvary.
