Brookside Free Methodist Church

The church, 190 E. 400 South, will sponsor a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 17, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18. There will be a clothing giveaway from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 19.

An all-you-care-to-eat fish/tenderloin fry is planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19. Call 765-453-0245 to preorder tickets. Fish and tenderloin will be provided by Hillsdale United Methodist Church.

Candy, games and snacks are planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 during the free trunk or treat.

Calvary Baptist Church

Melissa Campos will perform a concert at 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at the church, 1967 W. Boulevard.

Center Road Church of Christ

The church will host a Branson-style concert by George Dyer at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at 899 W. 300 South. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at Joy Christian Bookstore, 1802 E. Vaile Ave.; Priced Rite, 2112 W. Sycamore St.; and Strickler Jewelers, 3210 S. Lafountain St. They also are available by calling 765-455-0938.

Dyer has appeared with symphonies and opera companies throughout the U.S. and Europe. He has performed musical theater and starred in two video series for Trinity Broadcasting Network.

Christ Lutheran Church

The Fine Arts Series Music at Christ is presenting a series of eight lunchtime concerts. The first features organist Timothy Denton at 12:10 p.m. Oct. 2 at 3401 S. Dixon Road. There is no charge for the concert, which is expected to last 20 to 30 minutes. A light lunch will follow (donation suggested).

The next concert in the series is Nov. 6 and will feature organist Travis Person.

Fairview Baptist Church

Cowboy Church, a southern gospel program, is planned for 5 p.m. today at the church, 2108 E. Vaile Ave.

Faith United Methodist Church

The church will host a fish and tenderloin fry from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at 1518 N. Faith Road. The cost is $8.50 for adults, $4.50 for children 5 through 12 and free for children 5 and younger. Other items to be served are baked beans, coleslaw, assorted desserts and drinks.

Fountain of Life Word and Worship Center

Pastor Larry Carther and Faith Center for All Nations, Muncie, will be special guests for the Bishop’s Choir observance of the Pre-Servant Celebration at 4 p.m. Sunday at 611 E. Jackson St.

Pastor Emma L. Glenn and the Ladies of the Fountain will present “The Excel Women’s Conference” at 4 p.m. Sept. 29. The theme will be “The Esther Factor” (Esther 4:14).

Hillsdale United Methodist Church

The church’s third-quarter mission focus is on Haitian Environmental Support Program. Douglas Vaughn, executive director, will answer questions about the program at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 4893 E. 100 North. Ham, cornbread and beans will be served, and proceeds from the freewill offering will benefit the Haitian program.

New Beginnings Christian Fellowship

The church is offering a “Good Sense” financial seminar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28 at 1900 S. Berkley Road, just north of Kokomo High School. The seminar will be led by Dr. Ron Norman, who will show how money views and habits correlate with a relationship with God. It will include how culture influences people contrary to their values and goals. He will show how to use budgets and other financial tools to move from debt to financial freedom.

Morning Star Church

“All in With God’s Word” will be the sermon topic for the 9 a.m. traditional and 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship services Sunday at the church, 2900 E. Markland Ave.

New Beginnings Christian Fellowship

On Church Family Sunday. Pastor Jeff Russell’s message will be “Living a Spiritually Fruitful Life” at 10 a.m. at the church, 1900 S. Berkley Road, just north of Kokomo High School. Based on 2 Peter 1, it will address the question “How does one get back on track and stay on track with the Lord?”

New Life Assemblies of God Church

An evening of music is planned for 6 p.m. Sunday in the church’s Encounter Café in the church lobby, 1803 E. Vaile Ave.

Professor Doug Oss will provide insight into the Holy Spirit during a weekend workshop Sept. 28 and 29. He will speak on “Experiencing the Holy Spirit” at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 and “Spiritual Gifts: Please Drink Responsibly” at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sept. 29.

Oss is a professor of biblical theology and New Testament interpretations and director of Cordas C. Burnett Center for Biblical Preaching at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

The church is expanding its Upward basketball and cheerleading programs this year to include children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Evaluations will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 and Oct. 24 and 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 in the activity center. Northview Christian Church

Sausage, eggs and pancakes will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. today at the church, 2059 N. 100 East. A freewill offering will be taken.

St. Luke’s United Methodist Church

Cass County

Galveston First Baptist Church

The church, 207 S. Sycamore St., invites children in grades kindergarten through 12 to participate in its free AWANA program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.

Those through grade five will have lessons, songs, small-group study and games. Children can earn rewards for working in their handbooks and learning Bible verses.

The FOCUS group for students in grades six through 12 will have games and lessons.

Tipton County

First Baptist Church

The church will begin its annual fall revival with the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at 400 Oak St., Tipton. Evangelist Dwight Smith will be preaching. Revival services will be at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Trinity Wesleyan Church

The church will have its fall bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at 3021 W. Ind. 28. There will be crafts, vendors, face painting, and baked goods. It is a fundraiser for youth winter camp.
