Ladd offers one-day free dental clinic

From staff reports

Ladd Dental Group Inc. of Kokomo will host its ninth annual free dental clinic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 at 2333 W. Lincoln Road.

Ladd Dental Group dentists, hygienists and staff are volunteering their time to provide fillings, extractions and cleanings at no charge for as many people as they can see Oct. 18 on a first-come, first-served basis.

“I believe in the heart of Kokomo. That is people working together to meet the needs of other people. Ladd Dental Group wants to be a part of that effort through promoting health and wellness for those who can’t afford it and truly need quality dental care. We want to create healthy smiles and happy hearts,” said Dr. John Ladd.

Since its first event in 2005, Ladd Dental Group has served more than 1,450 patients with more than 200 volunteers each year. Many businesses and organizations in the community have donated items and supplies for the event, and there will be refreshments and treats for children as well.

“It’s amazing how the community year after year comes together to help us with this event. We have six doctors and over 30 of our staff members volunteering as well as Ivy Tech and Ross Medical School students and there are even other volunteers from this area who are coming over to help us see patients.” said Kasey Quirk, COO for Ladd Dental Group Inc.

Ladd and his team will do what they can at the free clinic to help relieve pain and take care of the patients’ dental problems. Patients who need ongoing treatment will be referred to income-based programs that will assist them in receiving more extensive dental work.
