Apostolic Lighthouse Church
Free food will be offered at the church’s pantry from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at 616 Touby Pike.
Brookside Free Methodist Church
The church will sponsor Redneck Games from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12 at 190 E. 400 South. Admission is $5 for those ages 11 and up and $1 for those 10 and younger. Among the activities will be tire toss, cornhole and hillbilly golf.
Country food available for a small fee will be chili, ham and beans, pulled pork, pork rinds, pigs in a blanket, chips, tea and lemonade. Contests will be best-dressed redneck couple and best belcher. Awards will be presented at 4:30 p.m.
There will be a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 and a clothing giveaway from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 19.
An all-you-care-to-eat fish/tenderloin fry is planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19. Call 765-453-0245 to preorder tickets. Fish and tenderloin will be provided by Hillsdale United Methodist Church.
Candy, games and snacks are planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 during the free trunk or treat.

Christ Lutheran Church
The Fine Arts Series Music at Christ is presenting a series of eight lunchtime concerts. The first features organist Timothy Denton at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at 3401 S. Dixon Road. There is no charge for the concert, which is expected to last 20 to 30 minutes. A light lunch will follow (donation suggested).
The next concert in the series is Nov. 6 and will feature organist Travis Person.
The Indiana Satsang Society will present a program on ECKANKAR from 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library’s meeting room A, 220 N. Union St. Among the topics will be dreams, past life recall, soul travel, divine love, and who am I and why am I here?

First Church of the Nazarene

The church’s annual fall fish and tenderloin fry will be 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at 4893 E. 100 North. The price for the event is $8 for adults, $4 for children 5 through 12 years old, and free for children 4 and younger.
With the all-you-can eat fish and tenderloin meals, diners will have a choice of two items from baked beans, coleslaw and applesauce. A variety of desserts are available for a freewill offering, and proceeds will go to scholarships for children to go to camp. Proceeds from the fall fish fry go toward the medical expenses for the family of Paul and Meagon Dorisse.

New Beginnings Christian Fellowship
The church is offering a “Good Sense” financial seminar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 1900 S. Berkley Road, just north of Kokomo High School. The seminar will be led by Dr. Ron Norman, who will show how money views and habits correlate with a relationship with God. It will include how culture influences people contrary to their values and goals. He will show how to use budgets and other financial tools to move from debt to financial freedom.
“The Importance of Financial Stewardship” will be the title of guest speaker Norman’s message at 10 a.m. Sunday.
New Life Assemblies of God Church
Professor Doug Oss will provide insight into the Holy Spirit during a weekend workshop today and Sunday at 1803 E. Vaile Ave. He will speak on “Experiencing the Holy Spirit” at 6 p.m. today and “Spiritual Gifts: Please Drink Responsibly” at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday.
Oss is a professor of biblical theology and New Testament interpretations and director of Cordas C. Burnett Center for biblical preaching at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
The church is expanding its Upward basketball and cheerleading programs this year to include children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
