---- — Brookside Free Methodist Church

The church will sponsor Redneck Games from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12 at 190 E. 400 South. Admission is $5 for those ages 11 and up and $1 for those 10 and younger. Among the activities will be tire toss, cornhole and hillbilly golf.

Country food available for a small fee will be chili, ham and beans, pulled pork, pork rinds, pigs in a blanket, chips, tea and lemonade. Contests will be best-dressed redneck couple and best belcher. Awards will be presented at 4:30 p.m.

There will be a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 and a clothing giveaway from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 19.

An all-you-care-to-eat fish/tenderloin fry is planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19. Call 765-453-0245 to preorder tickets. Fish and tenderloin will be provided by Hillsdale United Methodist Church.

Candy, games and snacks are planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 during the free trunk or treat.

Calvary Baptist Church

Melissa Campos will perform a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1967 W. Boulevard.

Center Road Church of Christ

The church will host a Branson-style concert by George Dyer at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at 899 W. 300 South. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at Joy Christian Bookstore, 1802 E. Dyer has appeared with symphonies and opera companies throughout the U.S. and Europe. He has performed musical theater and starred in two video series for Trinity Broadcasting Network.

ECKANKAR

The Indiana Satsang Society will present a program on ECKANKAR from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library’s meeting room A, 220 N. Union St. Among the topics will be dreams, past life recall, soul travel, divine love, and who am I and why am I here?

First Christian Church

The church is holding its annual fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Wednesday is 10-cent day. The church is located at 854 N. 300 West, at the corner of Malfalfa and Sycamore/Ind. 22.

First Church of the Nazarene

The church will offer a six-week program focusing on grief recovery beginning at 6 p.m. each Tuesday through Nov. 5 at 2734 S. Washington St.

A rummage sale is planned for 8 a.m. to noon today at the church, 2000 W. Jefferson St.

Hillsdale United Methodist Church

The church’s annual fall fish and tenderloin fry will be 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at 4893 E. 100 North. The price for the event is $8 for adults, $4 for children 5 through 12 years old, and free for children 4 and younger.

With the all-you-can eat fish and tenderloin meals, diners will have a choice of two items from baked beans, coleslaw and applesauce. A variety of desserts are available for a freewill offering, and proceeds will go to scholarships for children to go to camp. Proceeds from the fall fish fry go toward the medical expenses for the family of Paul and Meagon Dorisse.

Kokomo Church of the Brethren

The church will offer a Nelson’s BBQ Chicken fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 19. Pick up will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 311 W. Lincoln Road. New Beginnings Christian Fellowship

St. Luke’s United Methodist Church

Angels’ Attic Bazaar, craft show and chicken and noodle dinner will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church, 700 E. Salvation Army

Livin Forgivin, a southern gospel group from the Russiaville area, will perform a concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church, 1101 S. Waugh St. A freewill offering will be taken.

A dinner will be served for $5 from 5:30 to 6:45 at the Salvation Army Community Center.

Galveston First Baptist Church

The church, 207 S. Sycamore St., invites children in grades kindergarten through 12 to participate in its free AWANA program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.

Those through grade five will have lessons, songs, small-group study and games. Children can earn rewards for working in their handbooks and learning Bible verses.

The FOCUS group for students in grades six through 12 will have games and lessons.

Galveston United Methodist Church

The church will sponsor a Holiday Harvest Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Handcrafted items include jewelry, candles, purses, primitive items, woodcrafts and food made by the United Methodist Women.

A chicken and noodle dinner is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 24. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 3 through 12, and free for children 2 and younger. Also on the menu are mashed potatoes, applesauce, green beans, pie and beverage.

Onward Christian Church

The church is planning a chicken and noodle dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 12. Carry-outs are available, and a salad bar and dessert are included. A freewill offering will be taken.

Walton Christian Church

The church’s youth will be going door to door collecting food items for the C.A.R.E. Food Pantry from 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 13. The pantry serves residents of the Southeastern School District.

Bennetts Switch United Methodist Church

The church is hosting an all-you-can-eat fish and tenderloin fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26. Free will donations will be accepted with proceeds to benefit a mission for Jason and Rachel Helm - Mozambique and local missions. Free Will Baptist Church

The church will have a tenderloin dinner fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 24 to benefit Operation Christmas Child and WLAC Ministries. The church is located at 279 W. Broadway, Bunker Hill.

The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. The meal includes tenderloin, baked beans, coleslaw and a choice of tea, lemonade, or coffee. Dessert is available for a freewill offering.

Sharpsville United Methodist Church

The church will host its annual corn maze from 2 to 10 p.m. beginning today and continuing every Saturday until the end of the month. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children younger than 10. There is a discount for groups, and special hours can be arranged by calling 765-963-5616.

There will be games, campfire, food and hayride.

Mt. Olive United Methodist Church

The church will host a bazaar and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26 at 2015 N. 300 West in Marion. Offered will be crafts, homemade noodles, pies, cakes, cookies, candy, soups, snacks, and treasures for sale. A free breakfast of muffins, coffeecake, tea and coffee will be served. All proceeds will benefit local missions.
