Bible Baptist Church
An informational meeting is planned for 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Bible Baptist Church, 2635 S. Dixon Road, for those interested in a tour of Israel May 9 through May 20, 2014. Drs. David Hoffidetz and Richard Bloomstock will present the sights and sounds of Israel and will answer questions.

Dyer has appeared with symphonies and opera companies throughout the U.S. and Europe. He has performed musical theater and starred in two video series for Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Christ Lutheran Church
The third event of the church’s 2013–14 Concert Series, Music at Christ, will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at 3401 S. Dixon Road. A reception will follow the program. The featured artist will be Scott Montgomery, concert organist, who is director of music ministries and organist for Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Champaign, Ill. He received undergraduate and graduate degrees in organ performance from the University of Illinois.
Montgomery was the winner in 2006 of the Lilian Murtagh Memorial Award and the Audience Prize of the American Guild of Organists’ National Young Artist Competition in Organ Playing, the first person to win both prizes in the history of the competition. His performances have been broadcast on American Public Media’s Pipedreams series on NPR, and he has recorded three CDs.
Fairview Baptist Church
Cowboy Church, a Southern gospel program that proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, testimonies and fun, is planned for 5 p.m. Saturday at 2108 E. Vaile Ave.
The church will have trunk or teat from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. There will be games, refreshments, storytelling, and trunks full of treats. Those who attend may come in costume.
Faith United Methodist Church
A beef stew meal will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, 1518 N. Faith Road. The meal will include carrots and celery, applesauce, desserts, bread and butter and drinks. A freewill offering will be taken.
First Church of the Nazarene
The church will offer a six-week program focusing on grief recovery beginning at 6 p.m. each Tuesday through Nov. 5 at 2734 S. Washington St.

Fountain of Life Word and Worship Center
Elder Paul Otis and the Refuge Temple Revival Center of Indianapolis will be special guests for the Pastor’s Aide Committee’s Pre-Servant Celebration at 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at 611 E. Jackson St.

Howard-Miami Mennonite Church

Smart Choice Food Ministry at Main Street is offering a Thanksgiving food box special. The $30 box includes: 3-pound average boneless turkey breast, 4-pound boneless ham, 20-ounce dry au gratin potatoes (makes 28 servings), 48 Parkerhouse-style rolls (two 25-ounce bags), and two Pumpkin pies.
All food arrives frozen and is enough to feed 12 to 16 people.
Boxes may be purchased by individuals or organizations. Orders must be placed at the church, and paid in full, by Nov. 13. Orders will be ready for pick up Nov. 23 at Main Street.

A native of Kokomo, Solomon received his certificate of license and ordination at Second Baptist Church in Kokomo, a bachelor of science degree in elementary education at Loyola University and a doctor of divinity degree from Christian Bible College in 1981.

New Life Assemblies of God Church

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Kokomo
Rob Burgess, the Kokomo Tribune’s night editor and author of the column “House of Burgess,” will speak at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 800 S. Market St. The title of his talk is “The Development of Empathy.”
A breakfast is planned from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, U.S. 35 and 300 South. A freewill offering will be taken, with proceeds going to S.A.V.E.
