Army Pfc. Timothy A. Coleman III has graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. It consisted of basic military training and advanced individual training.

During the first nine weeks of initial entry training, or basic combat training, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship qualification, bayonet combat, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, marches, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions and core values.

During AIT, the soldier completed the seven-week cavalry scout course. The training included subjects and instructions to operate, maintain and fire M2/M3 Bradley fighting vehicles; call and adjust fire on enemy targets, recognize friendly and threat vehicles; conduct reconnaissance and security missions, perform foot patrols, conduct land navigation, locate and neutralize mines; and operate and maintain scout vehicles.

Coleman is the son of Timothy and Hyo Yong Coleman, Kokomo. He is a 2013 graduate of Western High School, Russiaville.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Kyle P. Gallahan graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Gallahan is the son of Kevin and Laura Gallahan, Peru. He is a 2008 graduate of Peru High School.

Braun is the daughter of Pam and John Braun, Tipton. She is a 2013 graduate of Tipton High School.
