MIAMI COUNTY — An additional 48 spots will be available in Miami County’s Head Start program for the 2014-15 school year, and families now have the opportunity to enroll.
Eligible Peru Community School Corp. families can enroll from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday at Elmwood Elementary School. Families from Maconaquah School Corp. can enroll from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 9 at Pipe Creek Elementary School. Miami County parents can collect additional enrollment information from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Miami County Kids’ Fair at Peru Junior High. The fair will include games, door prizes and a tricycle giveaway.
Head Start Director Julie Worland noted that because of the 48 additional spots, no waiting list exists for Miami County Head Start for the 2014-15 school year.
To enroll in this quality preschool program with highly-qualified staff, a child must be 3 or 4 years old by Aug. 1. Parents need to bring their child’s birth certificate and shot records, as well as their Medicaid card, Social Security card and two pay stubs for proof of income to the two enrollment sessions.
