Bible Baptist Church

A dementia seminar is planned from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in the church, 2635 S. Dixon Road. Speakers will be Darren Leavitt from Capital Senior Living and James Butcher, a local attorney. Topics include basic dementia, differences between normal aging and dementia, how it affects the family, caregivers’ needs and responsibilities, and the financial aspects of Medicaid and the elderly.

Brookside Free Methodist Church

The church, 190 E. 400 South (1/4 mile east of U.S. 31 on Ind. 26), will present the Muncie Foursquare Worship Team at 6 p.m. Nov. 30. Revival services will follow the concert.

The team includes Allie Craycraft, Austin Kreps, Jensen Matchett, Mike Kreps, Chris Matchett, Steve Craycraft and Lucas Blair.

Calvary Baptist Church

“A Memorable Christmas Experience” will be presented by the gospel trio Livin Forgivin at 4 p.m. Dec. 1 at the church, 1967 W. Boulevard. Admission is free, but a freewill offering will be taken.

Christ Lutheran Church

The Fine Arts Series Music at Christ is presenting a series of eight lunchtime concerts. The third concert features vocalist Kris Stephens at 12:10 p.m. Nov. 27 at 3401 S. Dixon Road. There is no charge for the concert, which lasts approximately 20 to 30 minutes. A light lunch follows (donation suggested).

The next concert in the series will feature Marc Loudon in a piano program Dec. 4.

First Congregational Church

The church will observe its 150th anniversary today and Sunday. There will be an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. today, with a proclamation by Mayor Greg Goodnight at 2 p.m. The worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday will be similar to services conducted 100 to 150 years ago.

Main Street United Methodist Church

The church’s annual bazaar will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. Chicken and noodle dinners will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and carry-outs will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The dinner also includes mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuit, salad and drink. The cost is $8, and pie is $1.

New Beginnings Christian Fellowship

Christopher Yuan and his parents, Leon and Angela Yuan, will share their journey during a service at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 1900 S. Berkley Road. Angela and Christopher have told their story in a book, “Out of a Far Country: A Gay Son's Journey to God, A Broken Mother's Search for Hope.”

Christopher Yuan teaches at Moody Bible Institute and speaks locally and internationally to youths in conferences, on college campuses, in churches and in prisons.

Russiaville Friends Church

The Macedonian Call Quartet will sponsor a gospel sing at 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at the church, 230 E. Main St. Guest performers will be Hoosier Harmony Quartet.

A ham loaf dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the church. The cost, which includes drink and dessert, is $7.

Salvation Army

“New Covenant” will perform at 9:45 a.m. Nov. 17 at the church, 1007 E. Foster St.

Soul Anchor Apostolic Church

Having trouble signing up for health care reform? Applications for the Affordable Care Act will be available 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 3 to 4 p.m. the first Sunday of each month at the church, 616 N. Union St. All are welcome. A women’s conference, "Prayer is Essential to the Process," is underway. Registration is 9 to 10 a.m. today. The fee is $10. Workshops for teen girls and women will begin at 10:30 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon for registered participants. Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Kokomo

Steve Christensen will speak at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 800 S. Market St., about today’s elder care market place and how it relates to quality of life. He will talk about some sensitive issues concerning end of life care and other issues that can broaden understanding of the current health-care system.

Cass County

Anoka Church

The church, located at U.S. 35 and 300 South, will serve a breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. today. A freewill donation will be accepted.

Menu items include biscuits and sausage gravy, pancakes, French toast, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, coffee, orange juice and milk.

Walton Christian Church

The church will host a Hap’s Chicken Bash to benefit the Southeastern Buddy Bag program from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 4. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 8 and younger.

The meal includes Happy Burger broasted chicken, baked potato, slaw, roll, butter, cookie and beverage. Proceeds will help provide food for children on weekends.

Leap of Faith youth basketball and cheerleading league will be hosted by the church. Registration is $20 per child, and evaluations are planned for Thursday and Nov. 23. The season begins Jan 11 and ends March 1.
