The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., is offering a variety of programs this fall on “Super Saturdays.”
“Preschool Powered,” for 3- to 5-year-olds, will have traditional and digital stories, active songs, and games from 10:30 to11 a.m. on Sept. 7, Oct. 12, and Nov. 9.
The library offers “Paws to Read” for reluctant and struggling readers. Volunteers bring certified therapy dogs to the library. Children read to one of the canines. The dogs listen while children practice their reading, providing a positive and non-judgmental environment so the children can improve literacy skills. Paws to Read is from 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 14 and 28, Oct. 5 and 19, and Nov. 2 and 16.
“There Will Be Pirates Here” from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sept. 21. Children will make pirate swords and dig for buried treasure.
