Morning Star Church

The church will begin a sermon series, “Once Upon a Time,” during the 9 a.m. traditional and 10:30 a.m. contemporary services Sunday at 2900 E. Markland Ave.

New Beginnings Christian Fellowship

“The Greatest Rescue Mission of All Time!” will be the topic of a sermon present at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 1900 S. Berkley Road.

Russiaville Friends Church

The Macedonian Call Quartet will sponsor a gospel sing at 6 p.m. today at the church, 230 E. Main St. Guest performers will be Hoosier Harmony Quartet.

A ham loaf dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the church. The cost, which includes drink and dessert, is $7.

Soul Anchor Apostolic Church

Having trouble signing up for health care reform? Applications for the Affordable Care Act will be available 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 3 to 4 p.m. the first Sunday of each month at the church, 616 N. Union St. All are welcome. Walton Christian Church

The church will host a Hap’s Chicken Bash to benefit the Southeastern Buddy Bag program from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 8 and younger.

The meal includes Happy Burger broasted chicken, baked potato, slaw, roll, butter, cookie and beverage. Proceeds will help provide food for children on weekends.

The Cowboy Band will present “Family Christmas” at 6 p.m. Dec. 7, and 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at the church, 1810 E. Bradford, Marion.

Elwood First United Methodist Church

“For Unto Us a Child is Born” will be the theme for the 24th annual live nativity at the church, 1500 N. A St. There will be a parade of camels, sheep, donkey, shepherds and kings at 2:45 p.m. Sunday in downtown Elwood. The animals and costumed characters will depict the manger scene from 3 to 6 p.m.
