Ind. 19 to close in Tipton

TIPTON — The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close State Road 19 at 8 a.m. Monday to allow Norfolk Southern to make repairs at its rail crossing on the north side of Tipton. INDOT anticipates that the full closure will continue for up to two weeks.

Barricades are being placed at mile markers 17 and 26 on State Road 19. An official detour routes traffic along S.R. 28, S.R. 213 and S.R. 26.

Norfolk Southern has scheduled maintenance crews to replace its rail crossing surface.
