Bon Air Church

The church, 2419 N. Locke St., will have Upward Basketball and Cheerleading registrations and evaluations from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 9 in the church gym. Brookside Free Methodist Church

Candy, games and snacks are planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday during the free trunk or treat at the church, 190 E. 400 South.

Calvary Baptist Church

Sally Duke will perform during Old Time Gospel Hour at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1967 W. Boulevard. A freewill offering will be taken.

The Fine Arts Series Music presents a series of eight Lunchtime Concerts. The second concert features Organist Travis Person at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 3401 S. Dixon Road. There is no charge for the concert, which is approximately 20 to 30 minutes in length, and a light lunch follows. Donation are suggested. The next concert in the series will feature Kris Stephens in a vocal program Nov. 27

First Christian Church

The 3rd annual G.I.F.T.S. (Gift Ideas For the Season) will be held at First Christian Church, 854 N. 300 West, Kokomo, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Many local businesses will offer their crafts, art and other merchandise. There will be a bake sale and hourly drawings for door prizes. It is a wonderful opportunity to shop early for holiday gifts and support local businesses.

The church will also host a Chicken and Noodle Dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 10. Proceeds will benefit Lisa Verbosky and help with medical expenses. Lisa is 37 years old and suffered a stroke. The menu includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw and dessert and is free will offering.

First Church of God

Upward Basketball and Cheerleading for children age 5 through sixth grade is planned at the church, 5937 S. Park Road. Evaluations and orientation is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 10. The cost is $60 before Nov. 9 and $65 after. Deadline to register is Nov. 15.

Grace Community Foursquare Church

The church, 2020 S. Goyer Road, will have extra services with Evangelist Dea Warford at 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday. His message is, “Expect a Miracle! Your Life Will Never Be the Same.” He is a full-time evangelist and has preached in all 50 states.

Howard-Miami Mennonite Church

There will be a hog roast from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday at 600 N. 700 East. The menu includes Cajun pork, au gratin potatoes, baked beans, applesauce, cake and drink. A freewill offering will be taken and proceeds will go to the student aid fund.

This year’s women’s retreat, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 9, will focus on food, faith and hospitality. The guest speaker will be Mary Pat Burrous. There will be worship, food, crafts, activities and fellowship. The cost is $15. To make reservations, call 765-395-7509.

The church will serve a country breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. today at 2940 E. 50 North. Included will be sausage, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, biscuits, pancakes, orange juice and coffee.

Main Street Christian Church

The annual Ladies Aid Breakfast and Bake Sale will be 7 to 10 a.m. Nov. 9 in the church’s fellowship building, 220 W. Main St., Russiaville. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 4 through 12, and free for children 3 and younger.

Main Street United Methodist Church

Smart Choice Food Ministry at Main Street is offering a Thanksgiving food box special. The $30 box includes: 3-pound average boneless turkey breast, 4-pound boneless ham, 20-ounce dry au gratin potatoes (makes 28 servings), 48 Parkerhouse-style rolls (two 25-ounce bags), and two Pumpkin pies.

All food arrives frozen and is enough to feed 12 to 16 people.

Boxes may be purchased by individuals or organizations. Orders must be placed at the church, and paid in full, by Nov. 13. Orders will be ready for pick up Nov. 23 at Main Street.

New London Friends Church

A fish and tenderloin fry is planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at the church, 2104 S. County Road 766 West. The meal includes baked beans, potato salad, dessert and drink at $9 for adults, $5 for children 4 through 12 and free for children 3 and younger.

The church will host a Creative Ministries Solutions Regional Puppet Festival Nov. 15 and 16. Registration must be made by Tuesday. The program will feature One Way Street training, resources and products.

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army Women’s Ministries Group will host a chicken and noodle dinner from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Nov. 9 at the community center, 1007 E. Foster St. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and younger. Desserts are available for an additional charge. Proceeds will support the missions ministry.

A local southern gospel trio, Family Ties, will perform a concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at the church, 1101 S. Waugh St. A freewill offering will be taken.

Having trouble signing up for health care reform? Applications for the Affordable Care Act will be available 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 3 to 4 p.m. the first Sunday of each month at the church, 616 N. Union St. All are welcome. Walton Christian Church

Leap of Faith youth basketball and cheerleading league will be hosted by the church. Registration is $20 per child, and evaluations are planned for Nov. 21 and Nov. 23. The season begins Jan 11 and ends March 1.

A pork burger and pulled pork supper is planned for 4 to 8 p.m. today in the church, 8280 E. County Road 800 North, Forest. The meal also includes baked beans, cheese potatoes, slaw, dessert and drink.

Bunker Hill United Methodist Church

The church will host a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Nov. 9 at the corner of Broadway and Elm Street. The freewill donation will go to capital improvements.

Grant County

Grace Community Church

Cowboy Church, a program of gospel music, is planned for 6 p.m. today at Grace Community, 1810 E. Bradford, Marion.
