3 men wounded at South Bend convenience store

Kokomo Tribune

---- — SOUTH BEND (AP) — Police in South Bend have been working to sort out what happened at a convenience store where three men were wounded in a shooting.

Police say all three suffered non-life-threatening injuries when they were shot early Sunday at the store west of the city's downtown.

Officers found one man inside the store with a graze wound to the head. Another man was found outside a nearby home and the third was dropped off at a hospital. Both suffered torso wounds.

Capt. Phil Trent tells the South Bend Tribune one man said the shooting happened after a dispute with another man but that surveillance video was being reviewed.

WSBT-TV reports in June a man was hit by a car while trying to protect two women from gunfire at the store.
