Indiana launches new health overhaul website

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The state of Indiana has a new website to help Hoosiers with the federal health care overhaul.

The state launched http://www.in.gov/healthcarereform/ last week. It says the website provides "an easy way" for individuals to determine if they may be eligible for coverage programs through the state, such as Medicaid. If not, it directs them to the federal marketplace to explore their options for buying health insurance.

The home page of the website asks visitors to select among three demographic categories — adults, pregnant women and children under 19 — to determine their options.

The site also has a link to the federal health care website and other features.

More than 500,000 Indiana residents without health insurance will be able to start buying it Tuesday under the federal overhaul.
