PLYMOUTH (AP) — Thunderstorms with heavy rains and widespread lightning moved across much of northern and central Indiana, causing some isolated flooding and possibly at least one fire.
Firefighters were called to a house in Plymouth early Thursday where flames shot through the roof. WNDU-TV reports a family member said lightning struck just before the fire broke out. No injuries were immediately reported.
The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings or advisories early Thursday for parts of northwestern Indiana. The weather service estimated that more than 4 inches of rain fell near Rensselaer, causing some road and stream flooding.
