Funeral next week for Purdue shooting victim

West Bend, Wis. — The funeral for the Wisconsin man killed at Purdue University this week will be held next week at his family's church in West Bend.

The visitation for Andrew Boldt will be Tuesday afternoon at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, followed by a funeral Mass at 7 p.m. CT. Friends from Purdue, as well as his former classmates from Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, are invited to attend, as is the local community.

Boldt was fatally shot on Tuesday. The suspect was scheduled to make an initial court appearance Thursday afternoon.

Church Pastor Nathan Reesman says the Boldt family continues to request their privacy be respected. He also asks that media not attend the visitation and funeral events.

Teachers remembered Boldt as a top math student who was generous and kind.
