Driver dies as truck runs into New Castle business

NEW CASTLE (AP) — Authorities in eastern Indiana say a delivery truck driver died as the truck crashed into a business building.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department says the large box truck was carrying mail when it smashed Thursday into the office of Neal's Gutters along Indiana 3 just north of New Castle.

The Courier-Times reports no one was inside the converted house when the crash happened. The impact left the front half of the truck inside the building, with office equipment and furniture smashed inside.

Witness Eric Landers tells The Star Press the truck went off the road, through the yard and straight into the building in the area about 40 miles east of Indianapolis.

Information on the driver's identity and cause of death wasn't immediately released.
