Police say 2 badly hurt in deadly I-94 pileup

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (AP) — State police say two people were critically injured in the massive pileup on northwestern Indiana's Interstate 94 in which three people were killed.

Sgt. Ann Wojas says 48-year-old Jeffrey Rennell of Ada, Mich., was flown to a Chicago area hospital after he was trapped in the wreckage for more than three hours following Thursday's crash. An update on Rennell's condition wasn't immediately available as an Advocate Christ Medical Center spokesman says he had been discharged.

Wojas identified the critically hurt person as 79-year-old Henry Imboden of Merrillville. An update on his condition also wasn't immediately available.

Wojas says 20 other people suffered less serious injuries.

Authorities say those killed are 67-year-old Thomas Wolma and 65-year-old Marilyn Wolma of Grand Rapids, along with 65-year-old Jerry Dalrymple of Chicago.
