Kokomo's Goodnight wins IACT post

Indianapolis —

Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight will serve as the 2014 Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT) second vice-president.
“Mayor Goodnight continues to distinguish himself as a leader both within IACT and as mayor of one of Indiana’s largest cities,” said IACT Executive Director Matt Greller. “His nomination is recognition of Kokomo’s accomplishment for growing the city’s once struggling economy into the nation’s eighth fastest growing economy.”
The 2014 IACT officers include Mayor Richard Hickman of Angola as president and Mayor Duke Bennett of Terre Haute as first vice-president.
“In 2014, the Indiana General Assembly’s legislative session is expected to focus on local control,” said Goodnight. “I am proud to join Mayors Hickman and Bennett to ensure that Indiana legislators recognize cities as the driving force for progress in Indiana.”
Goodnight previously served on IACT’s executive committee and chaired the organization’s legislative committee.
