Report on Indiana's A-F school grades set for release

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A report is set to be released on one of the reviews of Indiana's A-F grading system for schools that started following the revelation former state superintendent Tony Bennett changed the grading formula for a Republican donor's charter school.

The report scheduled for release Friday was commissioned by the Republican leaders of the Indiana Senate and House.

The review was done by John Grew, an aide to former Democratic Gov. Frank O'Bannon, and Bill Sheldrake, the former head of the Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute.

Bennett resigned from his job as Florida's schools chief last month, a few days after The Associated Press published emails about his efforts last year to change the school-grading formula for the Christel House charter school in Indianapolis.
