Bozard is St. Joseph physician of the year
Melanie Bozard, M.D., has been named St. Joseph Hospital’s Physician of the Year for 2014. Members of the hospital’s medical executives committee made the selection based on nominations from members of the medical staff and hospital employees.
“With such an outstanding medical staff, it is never an easy task to select just one deserving physician,” St. Joseph President and CEO Kathy A. Young said. “Dr. Bozard was chosen based on her high level of engagement at the hospital, her leadership qualities, her commitment to our mission and core values, and the comments on nomination forms.”
A common theme voiced by the many medical professionals who nominated Bozard was the respect and compassion she brings to her work.
Bozard earned a B.S. degree with highest distinction from Purdue University, then went on to obtain her medical education at Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Bozard is board certified in internal medicine. She became part of the medical staff of St. Joseph Hospital in 1999 and joined the St. Vincent Medical Group practice at 138 N. Dixon Road in Kokomo in 2013. She has served as chief of staff for St. Joseph Hospital since 2010.
