Wilson Farm Market owners Bill and Judy Wilson announced they’re ready to start construction and renovation of their northern Hamilton County farm market, located at 256th Street and U.S. 31, about halfway between Kokomo and Indianapolis.
The owners said they’ll give the market a “brand new look, both inside and outside,” including a total remodel of the interior and an expansion of the bakery and deli areas. The outside appearance of the store will be a “total change,” they added.
The Arcadia-based seasonal business has been in operation since 1968, and the Wilsons say they expect to add six to 10 jobs with the expansion.
“The project is being completed by Amish craftsmen and will hopefully be ready for opening this spring, pending any more harsh winter weather,” the Wilsons said in a press release.
They said they prefer working with the Amish, “who strive for the simpler things in life and quality in their products ... who are also known for their expert eye to detail and quality in their work.”
The Wilsons also get a substantial portion of their inventory from Amish sources.
