Carrol L. Stout

May 4, 1928 - Oct. 29, 2009

Carrol L. Stout, 81, Flora, passed away at 1 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at his residence. He had been in failing health for about 18 months.

He was born May 4, 1928, near Burlington, to Clarence and Mable Polk Stout. He was a 1946 graduate of Burlington High School. On June 13, 1948, he married Mary Lee Ratcliff at the Flora First Christian Church and she survives in Flora.

Mr. Stout was a retired insurance agent and real estate appraiser. He was a member of the Burlington First Brethren Church, Three Rivers Boy Scout Council, Trustee of Ashland University, on the board of Gospel Music Association, board of Meridian Standard Insurance Company, and a charter member of the Flora Rotary Club.

Surviving, along with his wife, are one daughter, Gloria J. Radcliff (husband Mike), Burlington; four grandchildren, Tim Radcliff (wife Amy), Fort Wayne, Kimberly Williams (husband Shaun), Fort Wayne, Amy Schelle (husband Ashley), Greenfield, and Tyler Radcliff (fiancée Chelsea), Kokomo; and nine great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, Joshua, and Drew Radcliff, Zachary, Bradley, Kaitlyn Williams, Isaac and Caleb Schelle.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Burlington First Brethren Church with Pastor Mike Radcliff and Dr. Peter Roussakis officiating. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Burial is at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora, following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to either Wycliff Bible Translators or the Burlington First Brethren Church.
