Well, it looks like winter is on our heels. Where did the fall go?
It seems like it was yesterday when the cold air hit my face as I left the hospital after having some exploratory surgery. Spring was just around the corner, and the first thing I thought about was how many plants I would put out this year.
And wouldn’t it be nice to sit there in the warm summer sun, watching those plants grow? I thought to myself.
Actually, I could not do that unless I had extra powers and stayed out there all day. And, anyway, the plants wouldn’t like the attention. They have a sense that they want to do their own thing without someone pestering them to grow faster and bigger. But they too like that sweet sound from those who take care of them each day.
Now here is where you say that maybe Uncle Ray is getting a little senile. But I truly believe kind words are needed in those gardens we grow. I know God smiles when I do that.
Anyway, getting back to what the weather will be this winter, I would venture to say there will be plenty of snow, but not a lot at one time. There will be a lot of moisture in the form of ice, snow and rain. The sun will send the warm air down to us and maybe give us a week or two of spring-like weather.
Really, I could care less how harsh it is because I won’t be getting out in it too much, except going to the stores and the doctors. I hope one day to tell all of you I will be getting better, but we will hold up on that prediction because God has not given the word on that date.
