Freedom is not free, but without it we stand to be oppressed. We here in the greatest country in the world have to be ready to take up the fight to stay free.
It has been so hard to read one of our soldiers has died protecting our freedom and that of other countries, but we honor them because they did it for you and me. On Memorial Day this year we stood united in the fact that there have been soldiers young and old who gave their very best representing our beloved United States, and on that day we said thanks.
As holidays go, we pick one day each year to celebrate, but this old man will say thanks every day of my life to those who have served and died and those still living or serving our nation of love and freedoms that other countries do not have.
Will we as a nation under God ever find total peace, or will we have to stand tall and serve until that day when total peace is throughout the world? Only God knows. Until that time, we must be prepared and ready to do our best not only to fight for the right to be free but also to back up those great men and women who will stand in front of us to protect not only their families but their friends and neighbors.
I ask you to remember why our loved ones died in those wars. I ask you to remember those who are out there on the home front who are ready to go where needed.
