Kelsey Stahl’s thoughts:

“My friend worked at Windmill Grill and said I could use her as a reference. I began working at Windmill Grill as a hostess and now I am a cashier. I have learned to assist people at this job, and I try to help them with whatever they need. I also bus tables, handle carry out and make salads. I drive a truck, so quite a bit of my earnings goes for gas. My job here at Windmill Grill has helped me learn multi-tasking, while my [Kokomo Area] Career Center class has taught me how to deal with various job situations. My real love is horses and that’s why I hope to study to become a veterinarian after high school.”

Tom Trine’s comments:

“Windmill Grill is locally owned and operated, and I have been in business for 11 years. We feature American fare, do catering, and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I think the [Kokomo Area] Career Center is very beneficial for students because it gives them the practical work experience they need. I see young people who cannot interact with the public properly. I have interviewed college students, who have never had a job. Kelsey can multi-task. I’ve seen Kelsey with a car at the drive-thru, a customer on the phone, a person at the register, and she handled them all equally well. Life would be good if all young people were like Kelsey. She also is a model team member. I think this job will help Kelsey in the future because she can handle pressure and she is committed to high standards. That leads to success in my book.”
