Community Foundation of Howard Co. scholarships

More than $343,000 awarded

Through the Community Foundation of Howard County,128 scholarships and renewals from 43 scholarship funds have been awarded to Howard County students with an approximate value of $343,100, including the two Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships.

“Our donors want to have a positive influence on their community by supporting students as they work to achieve their goals,” said Glenn Grundmann, scholarship chair for the Community Foundation of Howard County, in a press release. “With this financial support and encouragement, students can concentrate on their ambitions. We are proud to be a part of this process and to assist donors as they share their passion for giving.”

The students and scholarships they were awarded are listed below:

• Adams Rotary Memorial Scholarship: Kristin Antosik, University of Southern Florida; Jennifer Brown, Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis; Abby Cline, Purdue University; Casey Connor, Indiana University School of Medicine; Amy Hudson, Purdue University; Holly Irwin, Indiana University School of Medicine; Ashleigh Ledford, Indiana University Kokomo; Audrey Marrah, Indiana University School of Medicine; and Casey Moore, Ball State University.

• Carl Anderson Scholarship: Cailyn Kessler, Western High School, daughter of Virgil and Diedra Kessler.

• Kathie Beatty Memorial Scholarship: Hannah Randall, Western High School, daughter of Phil and Suzette Randall.

• Alex and Kitty Bell Scholarship: Hannah Werner, Purdue University.

• Jenny Michelle Butler Memorial Scholarship: Adam Lyons, Western High School, son of Mark and Jennifer Lyons; and Joel Van Auken, Western High School, son of Jerry and Robin Van Auken.

• Russena L. Comer Scholarship: Logan Redman, Northwestern High School, son of Richard and Monique Redman.

• M. Joyce Cook Memorial Scholarship: Leah Michel, Eastern High School, daughter of Bruce and Dawn Michel.

• Roy L. Crume Scholarship: Andrew Burkett, The Crossing; Dustina Carson, Marion High School, daughter of Kenneth and Melissa Carson; Maria Garcia, Logansport High School, daughter of Juan and Angela Garcia; Breann Morrow, Carroll High School, daughter of Curt and Theresa Roberts; and Jenna Yeakley, Lewis Cass High School, daughter of Jeffrey and Penny Yeakley. Also, Nickolas Banes, Dylan Bryant, Rachel Lloyd, Andrew Myers and Ivan Pozos are receiving renewals.
