WEST LAFAYETTE – Courtney L. Wisher graduated from Purdue University on May 17 with a Bachelor of Science degree in speech, language and hearing sciences.
A 2010 graduate of Eastern High School, Wisher also minored in human development and family studies and psychology. While at Purdue, she was involved in the National Student Speech, Language and Hearing Association, serving as corresponding secretary, vice president and president. She also worked as a research assistant under Dr. Jessica Huber in the Purdue Speech Physiology Lab. Wisher was a student ambassador for the College of Health and Human Sciences, activities director for College Mentors for Kids and a volunteer at the Miller Child Development Laboratory School.
For the last four years, she has been a proud recipient of the local Psi Iota Xi scholarship. She plans to attend graduate school at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, this fall to earn her master’s in speech-language pathology. She is one of 25 students accepted to the competitive program, which received more than 350 applicants. Wisher is the daughter of Kevin and Stephanie Wisher, Greentown.
