INDIANAPOLIS — Thirty-seven students from Ivy Tech Community College campuses across the state were named to this year’s All-Indiana Academic Team, with four coming from Ivy Tech’s Kokomo region.
The academic competition — which scores students on academic honors, activities including leadership and work experience and an essay — is sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges, USA Today and the American Association of Community Colleges.
Frost Clements, Rebecca McVay, Amy Wilson and Tyler Yeakley were the Kokomo region students who made the All-Indiana Academic Team. The students were honored at a statewide dinner sponsored by the Ivy Tech Foundation on April 17 in Indianapolis.
Clements also was named a Coca-Cola Silver Scholar. She will receive a $1,250 scholarship for this award. Wilson received a Coca-Cola Bronze Scholar award with a $1,000 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.
“The four Ivy Tech Kokomo Region students named to the All-Indiana Community College Academic Team are outstanding scholars and active in college and community activities,” said Steve Daily, chancellor of the college’s Kokomo Region, in a press release. “This is great recognition of their many contributions as students and community members.”
