---- — A Sycamore Elementary School third grader is among 13 students statewide to win scholarship money through a College GO! Week contest.

Meghan Spinazze will receive $529 in an Indiana College Choice 529 Savings Plan for her essay describing how she is planning for the future. Learn More Indiana, an initiative of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, chose one student from each grade level to receive money for their savings plans.

“Our student winners are taking purposeful steps to achieve their college aspirations, and we are happy to recognize them as a positive example for all Indiana students,” said Commissioner for Higher Education Teresa Lubbers in a press release.

The College GO! Week contest required younger students to describe necessary tools for their dream careers, and high school students researched college majors and wrote about the courses needed to succeed in different careers.

The 529 plans can be used for tuition, books and other college-related expenses.
