It is important for one to come to know what their purpose is in life. This is a journey involving soul searching and preparation.
We should constantly work on answering the question raised by the “Gospel according to Diana Ross:”
“Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you know? Do you get what you're hoping for? When you look behind you there's no open door. What are you hoping for? Do you know?” (The Theme from Mahogany)
Sometimes we need to visit “God’s service station” for some “spiritual diagnostic analysis” work. The Season of Lent is a great opportunity to spend quality time in reflection and meditation as to our relationship with God, others and self. Lent is a prime time to check “in to see what condition our spiritual condition is in.” During this Lenten season ask yourself, “Is my spiritual walk where it should be?” During Lent enjoy some major “spiritual me time” with God.
During Lent engage in reflection, repentance, renewal and restoration. "Lent" ("lencten") means “spring.” Lent is a time when we can conduct some “spiritual spring cleaning” in our lives.
Lent begins on “Ash Wednesday” (March 5, 2014) and concludes with “Holy Week” During Holy Week (April 13-19, 2014) Palm Sunday,” “Maundy Thursday,” “Good Friday,” and “Holy Saturday” take place. “Easter Sunday” (April 20, 2014) is when Jesus was raised from the dead in all glory and honor.
Jesus was very clear about his purpose: “Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” (St. John 18:37)
