See REO Speedwagon in concert at Emens Auditorium on Ball State University's campus at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

Tickets range in price from $28 to $58.

REO Speedwagon, formed in 1967, signed in 1971, and fronted by Cronin since 1972, has rocked to the top of the charts with a RIAA-certified 22 million albums sold in the U.S., 40 million around the globe, and a string of gold and platinum records.

The group’s nine-times certified platinum Hi Infidelity spent 15 weeks in the #1 slot. Thirty–plus years later, Cronin and bandmates Bruce Hall (bass), Neal Doughty (keyboards), Dave Amato (lead guitar) and Bryan Hitt (drums) are still electrifying concert audiences across the nation.

2) Love in music

Carmel Symphony Orchestra presents My Musical Valentine, at the Palladium at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets range in price from $10 to $63.

The orchestra celebrates the musical interpretations of love. Seventeen-year-old violin prodigy and Bloomington native Ariel Horowitz and audience-favorite Cathy Rund join in for this luscious concert.

3) Music for change

Fatoumata Diawara performs at Lafayette Theater at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Fatou has followed in the footsteps of legendary musicians Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan—among others—and harnessed the power of song to promote political change and human rights. She wraps messages of support for women, children, and the cessation of war inside songs of extraordinary beauty.
