This week's best bets

1) Remembering MLK

Indiana University Kokomo and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority present a community wide celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 4 p.m. Sunday in Kresge Auditorium at Indiana University Kokomo.

U.S. Rep. André Carson will speak, and there will be information on the efforts to build a monument honoring King in Kokomo.

The event is free and open to the public.

2) Art in motion

Fade Salon presents Hair-A-Juku: Kokomo’s Hair and Fashion Show from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Sunday at The Social, 3040 S. Lafountain St., Kokomo. There is a $10 cover.

Experience art in motion along with a comedy bit and fashion, hair and costumes.

3) Drum-Off

Centerstage Bar & Grill presents The Drum-Off. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and show starts at 8 p.m. There's a $10 entry for drummers, with money going toward the grand prize. There's also a $5 cover to enjoy the show.

The show will be judged by crowd response. Each drummer gets 15 minutes to adjust the drum kit to their liking and play.
