1) Hilarious entertainment
Hear true life stories that seem almost too outrageous to be real when comedian Ms. Pat takes the stage at Elite Banquet & Conference Center at 8:30 p.m. tonight.
The Atlanta native will talk about being shot, hit by a dump truck, becoming a drug dealer and having a baby at 14. She'll also make you laugh with her stories of motherhood and marriage.
Kokomo native and comedian Marques Bunn will open for Ms. Pat. He'll bring his celebrity impressions, sports humor and observational humor to the stage.
Don't miss it. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
2) Inspiration and Empowerment
Local non-profit Blush is looking to empower women of all ages tonight with its spring event called Image. From 6 to 10 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, international model, author, wife and mother, Rachel Lee Carter, will speak from her experiences in the fast-paced, image obsessed world of modeling. She will share her struggles with body image and share tips and ideas on how to reflect inner beauty in a society focused on outer appearances.
Indianapolis recording artist Brianna Caprice will end the night with worship. There will be snacks and prizes, too.
Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
3) Breakfast challenge
Support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation while whipping up your best sausage gravy during the Biscuits & Gravy Cook-Off at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Kokomo lodge Saturday morning.
Gravy entries must be a full crock pot and need to be at the Eagles by 8:30 a.m. Biscuits will be provided.
The first 25 people will be judges. The cost is $10. All others eating will be asked to donate at least $5.
All proceeds will be donated to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in honor of Conner Wagler. Anyone with questions should call Merlin Wagler at 765-860-2797.
