---- — 1) Circus time
It's back. Check out the human volcano, the Mongolian contortionists, the Ethiopian juggler and aerial artists perform tonight at the Kelly Miller Circus at Future Park in Kokomo.
There are performances at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This is the sixth year the circus has made a stop in the City of Firsts. It's only in town one night and offers a chance to see a fire breather, performing tigers and zebras, a trapeze artist that appeared in the movie "Water for Elephants" and an Ethiopian who juggles in reverse.
Tickets can be purchased at the circus site for $7 (children 2-11) and $15 (adult 12+).
2) Mother's Day at the track
See the street stocks, sprint cars and thunder cars battle at Kokomo Speedway Sunday. Celebrate Mother's Day in style at the Mother's Day Mudslinger.
Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and grandstands open at 4 p.m. Tickets are $12 and pit passes are $25.
3) See the fairytale unfold
Kokomo Curtain Call Children's Theatre presents "The Frog Princess" tonight, Saturday and Sunday. It's a show the whole family can enjoy.
When Ivan's father decrees that it is time for his sons to marry, Ivan is unhappy to discover that his bride turns out to be a frog named Vasilisa. But Vasilisa is really a princess under the curse of evil "Old Bones," who eventually takes the princess to a far-off land. To rescue her, Ivan must face many trials and travel around the world, using bravery and kindness to guide him along the way. Set to a rousing, modern score, this classic Russian fairytale is given a fun, modern musical spin.
Shows are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Sycamore Elementary School's auditorium. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children.
