This week's Best Bets

Don't miss these top events. To submit items for the entertainment calendar, contact [friday] at 765-454-8585 or via email at friday@kokomotribune.com. Items must be received by noon every Wednesday to be considered for Friday publication.

1) Revel in the drama

Prepare yourself for three hours of intense drama and brutal desire as Kokomo Civic Theatre performs “A Streetcar Named Desire” for the first time ever this weekend. Eleven cast members and a host of crew members have worked for months to perfect this sordid tale about a Southern Belle who ends up in New Orleans to escape her past. But it all catches up with her and drives her to insanity. There are shows tonight, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are just $10 for adults and $5 for students.

2) Dinner and Laughs

Work your abs Saturday as you laugh the night away at Phi Delts Comedy Night, at 2401 Saratoga Ave., Kokomo. Hear stand-up comedy from Otto the Comic, a Staten Island native who relocated to Indianapolis, and according to rooftopcomedy.com, performs five nights a week and occasionally appears in movies. You’ll also get a chance to hear from Eddie Brown and Courtney Key Meyers. The show is $8, and dinner is $8. Food is served at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m.

3) Hit those pins

Get out and get moving at 1 p.m. Sunday at Kokomo “Sports Bowl.” The bowling alley is hosting the Second Annual Military Foundation Bowling Tournament. So support our veterans and get a workout while you’re doing it. It’s $20 per person to enter. The male and female winners get a new bowling ball, and there will be lots of great prizes. Download the entry form at militaryfoundation.org.
