Flipsters’ Pham wins Level 5 state crown

NEW CASTLE — Kokomo Flipsters gymnast Anh Pham won the floor exercise in Level 5 state championships here Saturday.

Pham scored a 9.40 to take the win in the junior B division. She complemented her floor title with third-place finishes on uneven bars (9.60) and in the all-around competiton (37.00).

Pham, Maddie Shepherd and Rachel Johns teamed for a second-place finish in the junior B age group with a team score of 106.725.

Also for the Flipsters, Jenna Bradway finished second on bars with a score of 9.20.

Kokomotion’s Hannah Reecer, who is 11 years old, placed third on beam with a score of 9.25.

Aubrie Wininger (Jr D division): vault — 8.95, 6th.

Anh Pham (Jr B division): vault — 9.05, 6th; bars — 9.60, 3rd; floor — 9.40, 1st; all-around — 37.00, 3rd.

Jenna Bradway (Sr A division): bars — 9.20, 2nd.

Kelsey Thomas (Sr B division): vault — 9.05, 4th, beam — 8.90, 5th.
