We can’t worship in our local parks?

Our pastor is leading the charge, and I am in God’s army. We were informed yesterday that our church would not be allowed to have a service in one of our local parks this summer.

This is just not acceptable. Why is it we can have a festival nearly every weekend with a beer garden but the Word of God cannot be opened at one of our parks?

Our country was founded on Christian ideals by our government, and now our government is taking them away from us.

Do not let this happen! You can start by allowing our service. We are so disappointed in this, and we want our country back!

Thank you for your attention on this issue. We will be praying for your quick response, and may the good Lord bless and keep you until his return.

Vote no on cap and trade bill

I watched for five hours the meeting of the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. The issue to be voted on was the cap and trade bill – the most costly form of taxation in the history of the United States of America. Over 1,000 pages that weren’t even read by many before the vote that was taken.

Now, here comes the underhanded dealings by a Democrat-controlled Congress. Oppsie-daisy, here we go: a little known addition of 350 pages was inserted at 3:09 in the morning, in addition to 1,000 pages already to be voted upon by the House.

A Republican asked for a copy of 350 pages so that he could review this before the vote! He was informed that he could see this information on the Internet.

How sweet it is that this new information was withheld so that it could be sneaked in as part of this bill that will affect every American.

The president has decreed we need this bill passed without delay. I need this like a hole in the head!

The Senate has yet to vote on this bill that will affect every source of energy that you use. Call or write your senators to vote no and mean no!

Stand up, America, to save what is left of a beloved nation. The other alternative is keep quite. While temperatures go down next winter, your fuel bills will not, fellow Americans.

There is still time! Don’t sit there, do something! The vote by the Senate is yet to come.

Many choose food or medications

I would like to start by saying that I am a retired Chrysler worker. When we retired, we were told that we would receive a certain amount every month.

As you know, this has all changed and I don’t understand why they are punishing those that gave so much for so many years? Now we are out here in an economy that is going crazy, and those that can least afford the extra payments are the ones that are being singled out!

I had to retire on disability because I had nine operations in 10 years, two of those which were heart surgery and aneurysm surgery that put an end to my ability to work. I am now on 17 different medications just to stay alive.

When I retired I was paying $3 for a three-month supply. That changed and went to $5 for a three-month supply. That lasted for a while and they went to $11 for three-month generic and $16 for three months of a name brand.

That was a real hardship for someone taking so many needed medications, and now they are going to $20 for three-month generic and $50 for three-month name brands.

I know that to some of the seniors out there, that this doesn’t sound like much, as they have been paying full price for many years. But this is why we worked so long at these places, to get their benefits.

It is now going to cost me about $200 a month for my medication, and I can’t afford that! I have already went to my doctor to see which medications I can get cheaper elsewhere, and which ones I can eliminate and still live, even if I get sick to the point I am homefast.

We live in the greatest country in the world, a country that used to take care of its people. But now we are quickly turning into a socialist country that believes in euthanasia of its elderly.

There are many out there that have to pick between food or their medication, and I am probably going to become one of them.

President Obama wants to do away with Medicare and replace it with national health coverage. For those of you that want to look at other countries with government health institutions, it is not a good thing!

Why do their leaders come to America when they need medical attention?
