Please don’t abuse handicap parking

Where does one draw the line for handicapped parking permits to be used so freely anymore?

I can’t begin to tell you how many places I have been to see someone park in a handicap space, jump out of their vehicle and enter a store. Usually they are able to get inside before I do.

I consider myself a healthy 50-year-old female, and it just infuriates me to see so many individuals almost abusing the system.

My mother was diagnosed with neuropathy seven years ago, and was in a wheelchair for two of those. I took her to every doctor’s appointment for months.

She also needed assistance with grocery shopping, etc. It became very frustrating to have every handicap space taken when we went somewhere.

One time a parking lot had not been plowed and still had rutted ice in it. I could not push or even pull my mom through the lot because of it. It would have been nice to be able to get her a little closer to help with the situation of the day. I felt bad also because I wanted to get her out of the cold a little quicker.

It’s a struggle for some people to do daily things who are wheelchair bound, on a walker, leg braces, etc., that most of us do not have to think twice about.

My sister worked a full-time job and struggled with the same thing with Mom when she would take her places a few years ago. Now my sister has had her foot taken off last January, and more of her leg a few weeks ago. She now struggles with the same situation.

I have helped her, too, but she is very independent at the same time. Since she is having to learn how to walk all over again, she needs the assistance of a walker, and those extra steps she has to take means all the difference as to whether she can get into a store or not.

Please be considerate of the ones who really do need it. It may be a family member or a friend who will need your help one day, not to mention the individual who needs it now.

Nations will pay for aborting life

The money power that control the nations have as their goal the complete overthrow of the present order by a new world order.

The mindset on economy, efficiency and costs is a true concern of theirs, but it is also a means to achieve their goal. How similar are the elimination of inefficient autos, and the elimination of people who require more resources, to the elimination of useless eaters in National Socialist Germany?

The people who opted for the poisoned porridge of socialism by surrendering the birthright of the unborn will soon eat their fill of it, and lose their own and their loved one’s right to life.

There is no political solution to what is to come, since the money power control the mainstream opinion makers and the politicians.

There is a peace plan from Heaven given to the world by the Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. It may not be too late for the pope and the bishops to accept it and do what she requested.

Quiet Volt could be safety concern

Recently, while watching the news, I saw a piece on the new Chevrolet Volt electric car. It raised a point that I suspect has never been considered.

Unlike many people, I do not drive with my windows closed. This is because I do not drive with only my eyes. I also drive with my ears. Pilots follow the see-and-be-seen rule. On the ground, it is hear and be heard.

Whoever designs these silent electric vehicles should incorporate some sound reproduction circuitry, tuned, perhaps, to reproduce the sound of a favorite internal combustion engine. Such a feature would eliminate the silence factor and increase the safety factor.
