Price: Professional and compassionate
I first met Jay Price, the young Kokomo firefighter, in 1970 as I was beginning my law enforcement career with the Howard County Sheriff’s Department. Jay always impressed me with his sincerity and dedication for his job as a firefighter.
Over the years our paths have crossed at various times. In the past I have worked alongside Jay during his service with the Taylor Township Fire Department, investigating incidents of suspected arson. More recently I have had the pleasure of working with Jay in his capacity as Howard County deputy coroner.
A death investigation is never pleasant and often difficult at best. The coroner’s office and law enforcement agencies are frequently called upon to work hand in hand to resolve complicated investigative issues. I have appreciated Jay’s professional approach to his coroner duties which in turn assist the law enforcement officers conducting their investigation.
Other attributes exhibited by Jay are patience and compassion when dealing with the families he comes in contact with as deputy coroner. Law enforcement is frequently called on to make death notifications and the support we receive from the coroner’s office is greatly appreciated.
I would encourage voters to carefully consider how they cast their vote for Howard County coroner this fall. From my perspective Jay Price is the best candidate to serve this community in the coroner’s office.

Stump mistakes concern this voter
This is about three parts of Obama’s campaign speeches that were made during the winter and early spring. He made a statement during one of his speeches that, “I have been to 57 states and I have one more to go and I’ll be done.”
The second one was made before an audience that included many veterans. He stated that as he looked out over the crowd, he saw many fallen heroes in the audience. He should know that fallen hero is a soldier who died during a war.
The third comment: He was talking about aggressive nations such as Japan and Germany attacking the USA. He stated that an aggressive nation attacked Pearl Harbor and dropped The Bomb on Pearl. We know that The Bomb was dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima in World War II.
These statements were made on talk radio and were heard by me.
Mrs. Obama also made a statement after her husband had been elected by the Democratic Convention to be the candidate for the President of the USA. She stated that she had never been proud of her country ’til that moment. I believe Americans are proud of their country every day.
Joe Biden made a statement just a few days ago about the bailout of financial institutions and how it compared to the market crash of 1929. He said that FDR appeared on television in 1929 to tell the American people how he was going to handle the situation. Anyone who studied history knows that FDR wasn’t elected ’til 1933 and television was still being developed. Does a person want to vote for someone who doesn’t know how many states there are in the United States or what a fallen hero is or where The Bomb was dropped? Or the vice-presidential nominee who doesn’t know when FDR became president? People need to listen to some talk radio and not all the liberal papers and TV stations that promote only the liberal point of view. Wake up, America!
