Verses from Bible and human sexuality
For almost 2,000 years the church has stood united on this subject, but in this generation we urgently need a refresher of the biblical teachings on the man/woman relationship. For this purpose, I most humbly and concisely submit this writing to you.
1. Marriage is to be between a man and a woman. Man and woman were created for each other, because they need and complement each other. Any same-sex marriage is unnatural, unbiblical and unblessed. Also, same-sex marriage is against procreation. Further, such marriage destroys the picture each marriage is to portray, that of a prototype of Christ (the Bridegroom) and the Church (the Bride) to finally be united at the great marriage feast of the Lamb of God. Here are the Scriptures (NIV) you need to know.
From the Old Testament: “Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called “woman,” for she was taken out of man.’ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh” (Genesis 2:22-24).
From the New Testament, Jesus speaking: “‘Haven’t you read,’ he replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator “made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh”? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate’” (Matthew 19:4-6).
2. God’s response to homosexual unions:
From the Old Testament: “If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads” (Leviticus 20:13).
