Crista Tharp keeps 5 principles for success

When I heard Crista Tharp was going to run for Howard County Council, part of me was surprised. But then again, why would we be surprised a strong business woman in the community would not run for the position?

Having had the opportunity to work with Crista personally in the business world, I believe she is at the right place at the right time. Crista maintains the five main principles of success in her business and life.

Respect: She is respectful of others and their ideas and opinions. She is respectful of others’ time and talents and what others bring to the table.

Integrity: She runs her business with integrity and, having served with her on projects and committees, I have experienced her ability to stand on her faith and strong principles and yet keep an open mind.

Authenticity: Crista is authentic in her business. What you see is what you get. She and her husband could not be any more authentic, raising a family of 10 children with full-time careers and continue to be active in the many facets of the community.

Trust: Crista can be trusted with any information that might be confidential. Beyond that, she can be trusted to help make the best decisions for the community while bringing common sense to the table as well.

Service: A person cannot be successful and rated No. 1 in her industry over and over without giving great service. She will serve the community and the needs and be a voice of the community for change when needed and open to looking at all sides of any situation before making a team decision.

With her sense of pride in the Kokomo area and her commitment to these principles, I believe she will be a great leader on the Howard County Council.
